On Thursday, Real Madrid announced the signing of Arda Guler, their statement read: “Real Madrid C. F. and Fenerbahçe SK have agreed the transfer of Arda Güler, who signs a deal with our club for the next six seasons.”
On Friday, Guler was unveiled in his presentation in front of the media, as the Turkish youngster said: “I want to become a Real Madrid legend.”
Guler will wear the number 24 shirt for the 23/24 season.
The 18-year-old becomes the second big signing of the summer for Madrid after they secured the signature of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund last month.
Guler’s low center of gravity, close control and ability to dribble in tight spaces – as well as his preferred position on the right side of the pitch to allow him to cut in on his stronger left foot – have earned him comparisons with Argentine great Lionel Messi, with fans dubbing him the “Turkish Messi.”
