The pressure is growing on Bayern Munich day by day, as the club is now out of the Champions League and DFB Pokal, also dropping to the second place in Bundesliga with five matchdays to go. Fears of a trophyless season have started to emerge in Munich, with possible big changes coming up for the Bavarians this summer.
According to Sky Sport, many changes are expected at the club for the upcoming season, with the likes of Sadio Mane, Serge Gnabry and several other players expected to leave.
The report by Sky Sport states that Serge Gnabry is a candidate for sale in the summer, despite signing a renewal until 2026 just in July. Gnabry is deemed ‘out of shape’ by the management, as the player has scored just one goal in the past twelve Bundesliga games. They are not happy with his performances since renewing his contract.
Sadio Mane will leave Bayern if there is a good offer for the Senegalese. The management believe he is “neither demanding with himself nor efficient” at the club. From a sporting point of view, Thomas Tuchel has no plans with Mane as he doesn’t fit his system. Signing Mane is considered a mistake, especially with his salary of more than €20m/year and frequent injuries, according to Sky Sport’s reporter, Florian Plettenberg.
The management believe the side are better without Thomas Muller. Sky Sport reminds that in the first half of the season, Bayern Munich were in top form under Nagelsmann – without Muller. Bayern scored 35 goals in nine games and won six Bundesliga games in a row before the World Cup break.
Yann Sommer is likely to leave Bayern Munich in the summer as Thomas Tuchel plans on having Manuel Neuer as his number 1 when the latter returns to fitness. The Swiss goalkeeper is unlikely to stay as the club’s number 2.
Dutch defender Daley Blind will 100% leave the club in the summer, as Blind’s agent is already exploring the market for his client, as reported previously by Plattenberg. Players such as Marcel Sabitzer and Joao Cancelo are also included in this report, as Cancelo could go back to Manchester City after his loan spell, while Sabitzer will most likely stay at Manchester United.
