Mykhailo Mudryk has certainly had a Euro campaign with Ukraine’s U21s to remember, as Chelsea’s young talent managed to reach the semi-finals of the tournament with the national team, before being knocked out by Spain, who will face England’s U21 team in the final.
In the semifinal match on Wednesday, The 22-year-old provided a brilliant assist for Artem Bondarenko to open the scoring in the 13th minute.
With his side 2-1 down, Mudryk nearly made another brilliant assist but Ukraine were denied an equaliser by Spain goalkeeper Arnau Tenas.
In the quarterfinal match against France Mudryk won a penalty for Ukraine’s equaliser scored by Heorhiy Sudakov and then set up his former Shakhtar Donetsk for the second with an outrageous bit of play.
Picking up the ball deep in his own half, the No.10 threaded through the most delightful pass to split the France defence wide open.
