Harry Kane scored and assisted for Bayern Munich on his Bundesliga debut against Werder Bremen in a 4-0 victory.
On Friday, Kane scored his first Bayern Munich goal in his first Bundesliga game with the team vs. Werder Bremen. It was Kane’s second overall game with Bayern Munich, having already played in the club’s 3–0 German Super Cup loss to RB Leipzig last week.
The goal came at the 74th minute off an assist from Alphonso Davies to extend Bayern Munich’s lead to 2-0.
Kane also recorded an assist in the game first, helping Leroy Sane break the ice of the season just over four minutes into the game.
Sane scoring another and French teenager Mathys Tel, who had replaced Kane, getting on the scoresheet in injury time to ensure Bayern finished the opening day in their usual place: atop the league table.
Winners of the past 11 straight Bundesliga titles, Bayern last lost a season opener in 2011, They had not lost in the first round as defending champions since 2001.
Kane spent 11 seasons with Tottenham, scoring at least 17 goals in nine straight seasons and 30 goals in a season twice. The veteran also previously spent his entire career playing in England, making the transfer about more than just switching teams.
Bayern Munich won their first game of the Bundesliga season 4–0, starting the season strong as they seek to win a 12th straight league title.
